Shannon CIC
Shannon Citizens Information Centre is a full time service.
At Shannon C.I.C. they do the same work as the other Citizens
Information Centres i.e. provide accurate, up-to-date and confidential
information on Social Welfare and Health Board entitelements, information
on employment rights, tax and labour law. They also provide forms/leaflets
and booklets on all the above.
The Shannon C.I.C. also keep extensive files on local information
i.e. lists of property to rent, lists of clubs and organisations,
lists of services available such as plumbers, electricians etc.
They produce the "Shannon Diary" every two weeks which
is a two page leafelet which they use to highlight events, classes,
meetings in the area, and which also carries a list of local services.
Two monthly clinics are held in the C.I.C. - a Free Legal Clinic
on the last Monday of each month, and a Threshold Housing Advice
on the first Tuesday of each month.
