Barnardos Service in Ennis

Barnardos, has opened a drop-in childcare information service in Ennis Citizens Information Centre on the first Tuesday of every month to meet the enormous demand for information in the county on all aspects of childcare.

Anybody may use the centre which will be of particular benefit to parents, students, teachers, childcare workers, crèche/nursery staff, Health Board staff and any anybody else interested in the welfare of children in Ireland.

The 2003 edition of its Summer Activities Guide for children and families in the Mid West was also available at CICs throughout the county. A valuable publication with details how to get the most out of the long summer holidays from school. It is an invaluable aid for parents who wish to find out what activities are available for their children in the region this summer.

Information is provided on a wide range of childcare topics including parenting issues, behavioural problems, Bullying, Child abuse/protection, bereavement, child development, family breakdown, childcare choices for working parents, conditions and illnesses, special needs, and children’s rights, among others.
