Comhairle Appointment

Comhairle's Area Executive for County Clare is Lily Enright. Lily’s role involves supporting the provision of independent information, advice and advocacy services to the public and also assisting and supporting individuals, in particular those with disabilities, in identifying and understanding their needs and options in accessing their entitlements to social services.

Apart from supporting the development of Clare Citizen Information Service, Comhairle also provides organisational and development supports to voluntary organisations that deliver social services.

A wide range of resources and supports are available to the community and voluntary sector ranging from publications on social services; the citizens information database which offers information providers on-line access to information that is comprehensive, current & integrated; the Oasis Website which provides information around key life events such as getting a job, buying a house, becoming ill, etc. Comhairle also provides support in developing social policy.

As volunteers are instrumental in developing the Community & Voluntary Sector, supports are also available through the Volunteer Resource Centre, the Voluntary Sector Database, the Social Mentor Service and the Insurance and pension scheme for the voluntary sector.
