Launch of "Employment Rights Explained"

Employment Rights Explained which was recently launched at the Citizens information Service in Ennis is a comprehensive guide to rights in work and gives information on steps to take to resolve disputes concerning employment and the relevant legislation that provides protection.

Questions that employees ask Citizens Information Centres such as - should my employer give me a wage slip? am I entitled to be paid if I am off sick; what are my rights under employment law as a foreign national - are addressed in the booklet which aims to provide straightforward and practical information in a question and answer format and should be useful for both employees and employers.

Topics covered in the guide include contracts of employment, hours of work, leave from work, including sick leave, maternity & adoptive leave and parental leave, holiday entitlements, and equality in work.

Copies available from the network of Citizens Information Centre in the County or by contacting Ennis CIC at (065) 6841221
